Ovais sits at the intersection of corporate law, taxation, and business strategy - and has for over 13 years.
He began his career at Deloitte, spending four years in Audit and Assurance across public and private entities including banks, development finance institutions, and manufacturing companies.
He joined Disrupt in 2013 as Financial Controller, overseeing financial statements, external audits, VAT and tax compliance across the group for over a decade. He went on to serve as Head of Group Operations, before stepping into his current role as VP of Global Legal and Taxation.
A Chartered Accountant by training, he brings a rare combination of financial rigour and legal acumen to one of the region's most ambitious venture builders.
His focus is compliance as a foundation, not a formality. He builds the legal and financial architecture that lets everything else move fast.
